Water Sport

There are few places in the world where you can practice so many outdoor activities in a family friendly environment. Anything related to water and mountains, and in between. The weather is good almost 12 months a year, and if it's not good for skiing it's probably good for wind-surfing or paragliding or trekking the Alps or just walking on the beach.

Looking for something really different? The Nice Carnival runs from February to March with processions, comprising of 18 plus floats working their way up to a crescendo of gigantic decorations on the Place Masséna. These giant, colourful parades take place day and night, with entertainment provided by over 1,000 musicians and dancers from across the world. Click here for information.

Like shopping? The small boutiques displaying craftwork and Provençal fabrics in the Old town, the jewellery shops on the Avenue de Verdun, the chic couturiers on Rue Paradis, the shopping arcades and department stores...There's something for everybody!

If you are into your food there are French cooking classes, market, wine and vine yard tours. The large number of restaurants have transformed the region beyond its famous "Salade Niçoise to be the only French city along with Lyon to have its own appellation : "Cuisine Niçoise".
